The 2025 A Date with China Charming Tianjin International Media Tour began on Dec 15, bringing together foreign journalists, experts, influencers, and Chinese media to explore Tianjin's development in smart transit, vocational education, and cultural traditions.
The tour opened at Tianjin Metro Line 1's Shuangqiaohe depot, where participants observed the vehicle control center, intelligent train inspection robots, and a smart maintenance hub. Reporters praised Tianjin's advances in artificial intelligence and sustainability, noting the city's technology serves broad social progress.
At the Ziya Economic Development Zone, the circular economy exhibition showcased achievements in resource efficiency, environmental protection, and sustainable growth. American influencer David Christopher Munoz visited the China-SCO Green Industry Cooperation Platform, calling China "a pioneer in green energy cooperation" and highlighting its commitment to renewable technologies.
The group also toured the Luban Workshop Experience Center at Tianjin Light Industry Vocational Technical College. Luban Workshops train overseas technical talent to support Belt and Road cooperation. With 36 workshops established in 30 countries — 26 established by Tianjin in 24 countries — the program is a successful demonstration of education-industry integration and international exchange.
The day concluded atop Tianjin World Financial Center, the "heart of Tianjin", where visitors admired the glittering Haihe River nightscape.
