China-Singapore technology workshop drives collaboration in life sciences and healthcare

The inaugural China-Singapore International Technology and Innovation Workshop, hosted by SERIC, focused on fostering collaboration in life sciences and healthcare between China and Singapore. Over 60 representatives from various sectors convened to discuss industry trends and share innovative achievements.

Organized by SERIC in partnership with key entities from both countries, the event highlighted advancements in medical technology. SUTD showcased projects like the NeatSens Wearable Motion Sensor, Celltomix bio-manufacturing technology, and a Compact Low-field MRI System, emphasizing their roles in health management and disease diagnosis.

Industry leaders and experts, including those from the Tianjin Cancer Research Institute, discussed green biological pesticides and biotechnology innovation, reflecting the workshop's focus on sustainable development.

The Eco-City, a burgeoning hub for the biomedicine industry, showcased projects ready for industrialization and scaling, attracting interest for partnerships within the region. Dr. Hong Yee Low presented the team's NeatSens wearable motion sensor project, highlighting its innovative approach.

SERIC plans to leverage China-Singapore cooperation to accelerate technology transfer, business incubation, and talent development. By concentrating on green technologies, smart healthcare, and sustainable solutions, SERIC aims to drive high-quality development in the Eco-City, fostering innovation and progress in the region.
