Science parks, institutes in Tianjin boost BTH integration

Print PrintEditor's note: To integrate Beijing and Hebei province has become one of the top priorities of Tianjin municipality since 2014, when the national strategy of coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei was initiated. Over the past five years, a number of existing or newly-established technology parks and scientific research institutes in Tianjin have made their own efforts to cooperate with the companies and institutions in other two places to achieve high-quality development and yield good results.

Established on Nov 22, 2016 in Binhai New Area, Tianjin municipality, the Binhai-Zhongguancun innovation demonstration zone has an area of over 90,000 square meters. In collaboration with Beijing’s Zhongguancun, China’s entrepreneurial and innovative hub, the innovative base committed to build itself into a new incubator and home to scientific start-up companies in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
By the first half of 2019, 319 tech firms had signed contracts with the demonstration zone and about a hundred of them moved there from Beijing.
