Be inspired to create a smart and sustainable future, together with the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City.

The Eco-City optimises the use of finite resources, to meet the needs of today while addressing the needs of tomorrow. It is a place where wastelands and polluted waters were transformed to develop liveable environments, and where people and nature exist in harmony. The Eco-City uses innovative technologies that generate abundant economic opportunities, and bring people from different backgrounds together as one community.

The Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City is a flagship government-to-government project between Singapore and China that was launched in 2008 to transform a barren plot of saline-alkaline wasteland into a resource efficient, ecologically friendly, socially harmonious and economically sustainable city. After a decade of development, the Eco-City is now home to a population of 100,000 people and 7,700 registered companies and institutions with a total registered capital of RMB 289 billion ($42.96 billion). The Eco-City was the first "National Green Development Demonstration Zone" designated by China's State Council in 2013 and is also a frontrunner in smart city development in China.

As the Eco-City's master developer, the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City Investment and Development Co., Ltd. (SSTEC), a 50-50 joint-venture between a Singapore Consortium led by the Keppel Group and a Chinese Consortium led by Tianjin TEDA Investment Holding Co., Ltd., is an integral part of the public-private partnership driving the creation of a practicable, replicable and scalable model for smart and sustainable urbanization for cities, starting from Tianjin. As a key contributor to ecological civilization and an early adopter of innovative smart technologies, the Eco-City is now co-developing liveable, sustainable and sophisticated living environments for more people, by exporting its ecological and smart urban expertise to other cities in China and along the Belt and Road.
