Tianjin's Wuqing district is advancing the development of new commercial hub, serving as a key pillar for Tianjin’s efforts to accelerate the establishment of an international consumption center city.

The construction of Wuqing's new commercial hub is oriented toward internationalization, high-end positioning, smart integration, and hub connectivity. Through dedicated initiatives to boost consumption, the district focuses on high-end fashion consumption and automotive culture experiences, targeting the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei customer base. This further integrates and supports the development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei world-class urban cluster.

From January to November this year, the core area of the new commercial hub achieved a cumulative turnover of 6.49 billion yuan($0.9 billion), a year-on-year increase of 30.16 percent, while receiving 16.78 million visitors, up 11.63 percent compared to the same period last year.

Efforts are underway to introduce new formats and experiences that align with the district's commercial planning, driving consumption upgrading. Notably, the largest BYD Ocean Network flagship 4S store in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region has been established in Wuqing and is now operational.

Wuqing district has organized over 150 featured events across sports, exhibitions, and performances to attract visitors. Key highlights include the launch of the 5th Haihe International Consumption Season with the V1 Racing Carnival and the 2025 Tianjin Wuqing Half Marathon.

The district has strengthened policy support. With an annual investment of 100 million yuan, the fund focuses on fostering nine major consumer scenarios—encompassing sports, exhibitions, performances, dining, accommodation, shopping, entertainment, training, and tourism—as well as attracting industrial clusters centered on high-end fashion consumption and automotive culture experiences.

To support Tianjin's goal of building an international consumption hub, Wuqing will continue to adapt to new trends in consumer demand, coordinate various support policies and funding, and continuously innovate consumption scenarios.
