Liaofan Park in Baodi district, Tianjin, marked Chinese New Year's Eve with a temple fair and lantern show on Jan 28.
The festive event featured an upgraded lantern display, folk performances, garden tours, lantern riddle games, and other dazzling intangible cultural heritage shows and folk cultural activities.
The culinary and creative market attracted visitors with its rich variety of local delicacies and innovative cultural products inspired by intangible heritage. Tourists from across the region flocked to Baodi to immerse themselves in the vibrant festive atmosphere.
The themed lantern exhibition drew creative inspiration from Baodi's unique cultural elements, including Liaofan legacy, canal culture, agricultural traditions and intangible cultural heritage. These elements were skillfully integrated with local cultural characteristics, creating a captivating display. The park was illuminated by thousands of radiant lanterns, casting a dazzling glow that captured the attention of all visitors.
The park is named after Yuan Liaofan (1533-1606), a local luminary known for his effective governance and philosophical contributions, particularly the revered "Four Instructions by Liaofan".
