During the 2024 New Year holiday, the cultural and tourism market in Tianjin's Xiqing district was thriving.
During the three-day holiday from Dec 30, 2023, to Jan 1, 2024, Xiqing district received a total of 769,600 visitors, with comprehensive revenue reaching over 91.3 million yuan (about $12.8 million), showing a growth of 185 percent and 56 percent compared to 2019 and 2023, respectively.
Intangible cultural heritage and folk customs lead the new national trend. During this year's New Year's celebrations, folk customs performances were held in the scenic area, offering traditional folk experiences such as dragon and lion dances to visitors. The "Canal Memory Hall" tourism store attracted numerous tourists who would choose from Yangliuqing's cultural and creative products - a must-have when traveling to Xiqing.
Rural tourism has become a new hotspot. At the beginning of the new year, there was a surge in visitors to Caozhuang Flower Market - Tianjin's largest source of flowers, which welcomed the rise in visitors. Additionally, Xiqing Suburban Park's Joyful Ice and Snow Festival offered a distinctive experience with ice and snow amusement projects in urban areas, attracting great attention with its large scale and becoming popularity among families on vacation.
The integration of commerce and tourism taps new vitality. Major commercial and trade entities launched various types of promotions and discounts, and their concentrated efforts have effectively stimulated the potential of the consumer market in Xiqing, significantly enhancing economic momentum during the holiday.
