The 4th World Intelligence Congress, titled ‘Intelligence New Era: Innovation, Energization and Ecology’, will take place in Tianjin on June 23-24, being held online due to COVID-19.
Having been successfully held each year since 2017, the top-level hi-tech gala provides a platform for big names in global intelligence, science and technology to promote academic exchanges, exhibitions, innovation and deepened cooperation.
This year’s WIC will be different from the past due to its emphasis on dealing with the pandemic.
Intelligence technologies have been vital in facilitating both industrial production and daily life during the outbreak. This has included AI for temperature measuring and intelligent recognition, machine translation in customs, health QR codes for managing movement of residents, and apps for resuming work and operation.
The congress will focus on how intelligent technology and its growth can facilitate the return to normalization of economic and social life in the post-epidemic era.
It will place an emphasis on life in the new era of intelligence. During the current epidemic, the lives of average people and companies have been dramatically transformed through digitalization, with shopping, signing ceremonies, taxation, medical care, and education, to name just a few, now being done online. Thus, intelligence is no longer a distant or futuristic prospect in daily life - it is changing the way we live our lives every moment.
Strategic emerging industries such as the digital economy, smart manufacturing, smart health, and new materials mean new economic engines and growth points. The WIC event has set up an innovation and entrepreneurship competition, focusing on new fields which cultivate distinctiveness and originality.
The intelligence gala shows its global side, with the attendance of overseas scientists and representatives from foreign states and international enterprises. International organizations such as UNESCO and the World Federation of Engineering Organizations will continue to be partners of the conference. World-renowned enterprises such as GE, Intel, Nestlé, Schneider, Honeywell, SEW, and Novozymes will all participate in the conference in different forms.
The congress comprises conferences, exhibitions, and competitions.
The opening ceremony will be held online via AR and VR, with speeches from global state representatives, scholars and entrepreneurs. Summits and forums will envision and explore the possible ‘smart life’ that is enabled and shaped by cutting-edge technologies such as AI, big data, cloud computing, and the ‘internet of things’.
A cloud intelligent technology exhibition will be held from June 23 to 29. The virtual exhibition venue includes six exhibition areas: scientific research and innovation, intelligent manufacturing, intelligent transportation, smart life, smart cities, and big data. The exhibitions will display research results from over 100 enterprises and institutions, including the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Huawei, Tencent, Alibaba, and a supercomputing center. Visitors and buyers can enter the virtual venue to watch the exhibitions through their mobile phone or PC.
The WIC will debut six competitions in intelligent driving - the world's first online smart driving car full-field event, with industrial APP innovation, intelligent safety, algorithms, smart PE, innovation and entrepreneurship.
The event will also include cloud-based experience activities to see sites such as Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City, smart ports, smart factories, unmanned driving, online concerts, non-legacy exhibitions and more. It will open online meeting rooms for attendees to conduct conversations and negotiation with each other.
