The goal of Heping district in Tianjin of becoming a world-class intelligent central zone was revealed at a news conference on August 2.

Its pursuit of high-quality economic and social development is justified by the region's solid economic foundation and robust modern service sector.

Last year, the district's GDP reached 92 billion yuan($13.26 billion), and the added value of its service industry accounted for more than 98 percent of its total economic output.

Located in the central area of Tianjin, Heping district gathers the most extensive resources of finance, commerce, education and medical resources in Tianjin.

It is also home to century-long business outlets, residential communities and the shipping industry.

Thirty-seven buildings each generated tax exceeding 100 million yuan; 107 domestic and foreign top 500 enterprises were housed there.

To achieve the goal, the district plans to develop the smart and emerging technology industry, international tourism and the health industry on the basis of consolidating its leading finance and global commercial businesses.

At the same time, the district has also injected great energy into improving education, health-care and cultural depth.
