Coordination in Ecology

Tianjin has adopted collaborative measures with Beijing and Hebei to protect the environment. To control air pollution, Tianjin has strengthened cooperation with Beijing and Hebei in the implementation of unified standards for regional pollution weather warning with joint consultation.

In regards to water pollution control, Tianjin has formulated the Plan for Water Environment Compensation of Luanhe River Water Diversion, bringing new progress into the pilot work. Thanks to the pollution control work around Yuqiao Reservoir, the water ecology and environment there have been significantly improved.

Relevant agreements have been signed by the environmental protection departments of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, with a view to enhancing the joint response capacity for water pollution control.

Tianjin released ecological protection plans for wetland nature reserves, Qilihai Wetland, Beidagang Wetland, Dahuangpu Wetland and Tuanbo Birds Nature Reserve in 2017. The city restores 95 sq km of wetland, playing an important role in improving the ecological environment of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.
